No Man's Land

On holiday...

Due to circumstances beyond my control, I must sally forth to do my annual 2 weeks of stimulating [sic] training in the reserves.  The mosquitos can't wait for our arrival, I imagine.  In the interest of being brief, I will leave this as my last post for a little while.  This is my response to my sister's post about the Marriage Amendment which is winding its way toward certain doom in Congress.

If it wasn't for intrusive government programs and policies (and taxes) which are triggered by marital status, this wouldn't even be an issue to anyone, gay or straight.

The reason why this is an issue is precisely because of big government.   On the Left, this is being used to rally the petty Marxists and Leninist Bourgeoisie, who are trying to convince themselves that they are big government Libertarians.  On the right, this is being used to rally a flagging conservative movement hijacked by RINOs who want to throw open the borders, spend us into oblivion, and subject us to Bush's latest one-world adventure...Super NAFTA/NAFTA Plus.  What you are watching is the end of the two party charade and the beginning of the end of our nation as you know it.

This amendment will never pass, and we all know it.  This is just a final attempt keeping the Left and the Right rank-and-file at war long enough to sell us into bondage to an international overlord without our noticing it.  We are being defeated by division, division over manufactured struggles, struggles that merely besiege castles in the air.

Don't worry your head over silly distractions like this amendment.  Bigger frauds are afoot.

• A few months.

• In the next few years, next decade, or between now and infinity.

• Clinton helped them get the plans.  *Retard*

Crackhead Couric.

Katie Couric seems to have trouble cobbling thoughts together without a script:

Katie Couric hopes to bring a "humanistic, more accessible" approach to her job when she takes over as anchor and managing editor at "CBS Evening News" in September, she said Thursday. (Humanistic, more accessible?  As opposed to being an uncultured, deistic, frigid bitch in an ivory tower?  I have to wonder why she thought humanistic and accessible went together.)

Addressing the annual convention of CBS affiliates, Couric predicted that the "pretentious era" of the evening-news anchor is going to be a thing of the past. (I sure hope so.  Looks like the "pretentious era" of newspapers is ending, too. I do find it ironic that the anchor of the "Today Show" would read the eulogy over the way biz is done at the three networks, especially on the "Today Show."  Alas, Walter Cronkite, remember when you convinced folks to sell out S. Vietnam, back when anchors were the gatekeepers?  "Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair."--Ozymandias, P. B. Shelley)

"The audience is more sophisticated than we give them credit for -- they don't want a mechanical Ted Baxter," said Couric, whose last day as co-anchor of NBC's "Today" was Wednesday. "I'm a serious, caring, compassionate person. I hope that comes out. ... People want a multidimensional (news anchor) and not someone they can put in a box." (Translation:  They're not as stupid as we think they are.  I guess we should stop trying to treat them all as impressionable mind-numbed robots.  The little blue-haired ladies with 35 cats we can reprogram, but the others will be challenging.)

Thoughts on Condi and Iraq

Dear Gunther [local radio host],

I'd like to make a few points:

   1. Our past support of Iraq wouldn't have been an issue if we'd listened to George Washington's Farewell address, which warned us against "entangling foreign alliances."
   2. The "War on Terrorism" is unwinable, just like a war on guns, bombs, or missiles would be.  Terror is a tactic. We can win the war on Islam, but we have to accept the enemy for who they are.
   3. Condi and Bush claim to fight Terror, but recently fought to send taxpayer money to Hamas.  This does not compute.

The Supreme Court reduced to twelve years [from 27 years] the sentence to the leader of the terrorist organization To the [sic-Google translation error] Qaeda in Spain, ´Abu Dahdah´, and maintained the sentence of Taysir Alony of seven years of jail.

It's not like the terrorists ever attacked Spain or anything, right?

Al-Reuters Lies

Note this excerpt from an article entitled "Bush vows to punish Haditha crime, Iraqis angry":

President George W. Bush vowed on Wednesday to punish any U.S. Marine guilty of shooting Iraqi civilians at Haditha but Iraqis, including the prime minister, complain that U.S. troops have killed elsewhere with impunity.

"There is a thorough investigation going on. If ... laws were broken there will be punishment," Bush said in Washington.

It was his first public comment on a scandal that some commentators are comparing to the 1968 My Lai massacre in Vietnam that helped turn many Americans against that war.

Wow.  "Hints, allegations, and things left unsaid," to use a parlance of times gone by. ;)  I guess that we should expect nothing less than complete slant from Al-Reuters, the News Wire/Blog Intimidator Host.  Notice those three little dots, though, which I've highlighted for ease of comparison.

Now, compare that quote with this one from UPI, where the quote is left intact (words missing above highlighted):

"I am troubled by the initial news stories," Bush said Wednesday. "I am mindful that there is a thorough investigation going on. If, in fact, the laws were broken, there will be punishment."

Fair enough, though, that one has to tweak quotes to make them fit the headlines.  After all, when one frames a President correcting a confirmed war crime to please "Iraqis angry,"  one can't very well have a president somewhat skeptical that laws were violated.

The author of the Reuters article is the station chief of the Baghdad Bureau, Alastair MacDonald.  See some of his other work here and here.  The "agitator" label seems too tame.

Sadly, the number of terrorist incidents since 9/11 is climbing past 5000.  At this rate, it looks like it will happen today or tomorrow.  Down with the pedophile "prophet" and all those who, by doing his will, murder innocents around the world.

Speaking of Islam, it looks like Al Quaeda is getting cash from selling children into slavery.  The Muslims molest and destroy children, while the UN, that esteemed body who our President serves, who he believes will save us from terror, runs around the world ignoring Islam and setting up kiddie porn rings.

Abolish the UN and liquidate Islam.  Do it for the children...

Closed Primaries Suck.

The price you pay for being disenfranchised in either party is that you lose your primary vote in PA.  I got turned away from a poll for the first time in my life today because I'm registered Libertarian, rather than as an R or a D. 

You arrogant SOB's who tell us that we third-party voters are wasting out votes (when we could be voting for your guy) need to have a taste of your own medicine.  It's hard to waste one's vote when one isn't able to vote.

It is time that we have an open primary so voters can shop for the best candidate in ANY party, not just in the Republicrat Monopoly Party.  Until you have open primaries, you are doomed to elect the lesser of two evils.
