Got the response back from my vehement letter to Rep. Charlie Dent:

Thank you for taking the time to email me about an issue of importance to
you. I will review your comments and take them into consideration.  It is
my privilege and duty to represent the views of the citizens of the 15th
District of Pennsylvania.  The more I hear from those I have the honor to
represent, the better I can fulfill my responsibilities. My staff and I
will make every effort to respond to your concerns, comments and questions
in a timely fashion.

Once again, thank you for sharing your comments with me. I encourage you
to continue to check my website at www.house.gov/dent for updates on the
legislative issues facing the 109th Congress and events taking place in
the 15th District.  As always, never hesitate to contact me with any
additional concerns.

The Speech.

Huh.  The speech.  Yeah, I heard it...before.  BSBSBSBSBSBS.  La-de-Da.

About the Guard on the border...good idea for the two weeks summer training, IFF they get to hunt for illegals, not act as a working party for INS.  Also, rifle qualifying on illegals and drug runners might make the experience rewarding.  Otherwise, it's just a waste.

Open Letter to Rep. Dent (RINO-PA)

To the "Honorable" Rep. Dent:

I am impressed at your self-preservation instincts.  It was with some degree of amusement that I noted your telemarketing call asking me to "write you in as the GOP candidate in the primary.  I thank you.  I know it's a lot to ask.  Blah, blah, blah."  Yeah, ok, whatever.

So, talk to me.  The nation is ready to tear itself into civil unrest over the Mexican invasion, but you'd never guess it from your website. Hey, at least you support hydrogen fuel cells, right?  What about your spending habits?  Ah, yes, I see you voted for first-amendment-violating "campaign finance reform" to ban 527's.  I wrote to you about the necessity of Able Danger hearings, and you told me that you "were concerned about the War on Terror."  Glad to hear you're working overtime to handle the issues that matter to We the People.

I've been writing you about issues left and right, but you're so out of touch that I can send you a letter about concern over you guys overspending, and you respond with a letter saying that "you believe in math and science and are trying to spend more money on government indoctrination centers [public schools]." 

You, King Bush, and Santorum are lost to me.  Spending, borders, individual rights...what happened to the 1994 and Reagan revolutions? The GOP left me, and I left the party.  You three became unholy Arlen Specter clones, so I am leaving you high and dry on election day.  I helped you with your first campaign, but I will not support any more GOP candidates unless you guys really impress me VERY SOON.

No, Chas, I am not writing you in for the primary.  I'm registered Libertarian, now, since I had to leave the GOP, by the way.   

Oh, yeah, I'm eagerly anticipating your response to this.  Let me guess, a letter about "Supporting an alternative fuel based on pigs flying, that will enable us to defeat terrorists using a Medicare Prescription bus that tours the Lehigh Valley, collecting write-in signatures for you before the primary election."  Yippee.  Get a clue, Mr. Dent.

Damn Elephants, always begging for loose change.  Rick Santorum, puckered piehole firmly planted on Bush's sphincter, is running for Senate again.  This is the same ass-clown who stabbed Pat Toomey in the back against Specter, then coopted Toomey when he realized Pat still had enough credentials with the conservative base to give Specter a run for his money IN THE PRIMARY. 

You soulless kleptocrat...

Anyway, I crafted a witty (Or so I imagine it to be) response to our junior GOP Arlen Specter/Country Club Republican Senator, Rick Santorum (R-INO).  Enjoy:

You shilled for Sen. Specter, you whored out to Bush when he stabbed Toomey in the back, who then did you the undeserved service of helping you, and you still have the nerve to demand my money?  I admire your nerve and penchant for stunts of bad taste, Senator, but neither you nor any other GOP politician is getting my money before '08, unless Pat Toomey runs for something. 

You know, I worked your campaign  in 94 and 2000, met you, and thought you were great, but you have made me regret it many times over. 

Because of career GOP hacks like you, Dent, Specter, and Bush, I'm going to boycott the national election in 2006 for the GOP.  I remember your broken Contract with America, refusal to get us out of the UN/WTO/CAFTA (soon the FTAA, as well), the omnibus "Highway" pork barrel bill, and the list goes on.  Do something respectable (marginally conservative), and I'll support you again.  Try something innovative, something to the tune of not kissing Bush's rear every time he wants to set record deficits and leave the borders open, like blowing the doors off the Able Danger cover-up.  Something meaningful.

Until then, forget about my vote, my money, and the vote of any Republicans I can convince to boycott the next election. 

You and the class of 1994 were and are a great disappointment, sir.

Take your panhandling, toady self somewhere else, sir.  My coffers aren't as deep as those that paid for $500,000,000 in bridge pork TO ALASKA. 

Pork Barrel XXX.

This story had me in a regular tirade today.  How would you fritter away $454,000,000.00 ?  That's just this side of half a billion dollars.  Would it take you a while?  Would you plan to make sure that such a blessing didn't get misspent?

Then you are in the US Senate.  This is the amount being spent to build two bridges in Alaska for very small populations, so they don't have to use their ferries anymore.  No one seems to have been complaining, it just happened to be a good pork addition to the collosal highway omnibus bill passed by a GOP congress and signed into law by a GOP president.

That's right, true GOP believers, your government, under your party's management, is literally hemorraging money...your money.

Enter Sen. Coburn (R-OK), who tried to divert some of the ridiculous pork from useless bridges in Alaska to much needed repairs to a bridge in Louisianna that was damaged in Katrina.

Threats and attacks followed ensued, and only 14 senators voted for the amendments.  Notably, my two senators, Santorum (PA-LOSER) and "Spectre" (PA-LOSER) were absent from that list.  Huh, go figure...  Read about how your Senate is buying votes and racking up the federal credit card balance.

The next time some GOP hack tells you that they're compassionate conservatives, ask them about this number:

That's right.  The federal beureaucracy is running lean and sleek after 11 years since the 1994 "Republican Revolution."  No more pork, no more fat.  Deficits are trimmed back to the point where they need to be.

Right.

Delay has spoken.   Rush thinks he's sarcastic, but this sounds like something a GOP leader would be stupid/egomaniacal enought to say.  Who knows?  If this is what he meant to express, he's gone completely nuts, obviously, but if he's being a wiseacre, I can appreciate the sarcasm.  If only we could tell...

Hillary's new boy-toy is a loser.

I broke with my normal habits tonight (not watching tv) when I visited a family member at a picnic.  As the night wore on, we few cigarettes and beer crowd hung out together and someone turned on the tv, to FOX News.

As it happened, the O'Reilly Factor came on, complete with the obligatory "Greta" footage.  During the "Talking Points" segment, O'Reilly made the astute observation that this helplessness of the poor in N.O. was due to their poverty and the expectation that they would get saved ("it will all just work out") via goverment intervention.  This, he said, was their chief downfall, and the lesson everyone needed to learn from this was that we need to get educated, make money, look after ourselves, and be prepared to handle our own affairs rather than expecting Big Brother to act in a timely, thorough manner on our behalf.  Being the conservative libertarian that I am, I almost dropped my beer while cheering.

In the next segment one of the staff "experts," Newt Gingrich appeared to discuss this idea.  Now, I worked the 1994 Republican Revolution campaigns as a young teen, so imagine my disappointment as my former idol, Newt, who has spent the last few years currying favor with Clintonistas and the Hildabeast herself, of all people, started labeling any calls for self-reliance (as opposed to government reliance) "un-American" on the O'Reilly Factor.  That's right, the architect of the Contract with America now thinks anyone calling for personal accountability, self-betterment, smaller government, or more citizen awareness is a "kook."

As with Arianna Huffington and David Brock, I guess the other side pays better.  What is it with these folks?  They made their names being right-wing activists, then they switch sides, like just so many sports figures.  Good riddance, Newt, whereas once I loved you, you are dead to me now.  Was it all a game, was their cash better than ours, or are you merely executing a narcissistic self-advancement career move?

How the mighty have fallen.  Your impact will be missed, but you, sir, are a traitor and a scoundrel.

Country Clubbers Need Not Panhandle Here...

It's clear that Casey can count on the Scranton Times to campaign for him. And we really shouldn't be surprised given the newspaper's publishers and their families have given more than $100,000 to the campaigns of Bobby Casey, his late father, and other relatives. But, it's not enough to get mad, you must get even  by offering your support to counter their effort.  Will you support Santorum the old-fashioned way? Sign up to volunteer and donate $500, $100, $50, or whatever you can give at this time. A Casey campaign spokesperson said the idea that the Scranton Times ad will influence voters is "really laughable." We hope so, but we're not counting on it. Re-electing Rick Santorum to the U.S. Senate is just too important  for the people of Pennsylvania and the Party.  Re-elect Rick Santorum. Volunteer and contribute today. Rick Santorum will never get my support again.  I worked on his first campaign, remember back when he was a conservative?

He supported Arlen Specter over Pat Toomey and he's been supporting Bush's out-of-control spending.  The party left me last year, so I'm a Libertarian for the time being, and I will be working to undercut turncoats like Arlen Specter, Rick Santorum, and Prez Bush these next few years.  After the WTO votes, voting to strengthen the UN, and the Medicaire "Reform," I've had it with you country club Republicans.

Go find some other suckers to give you money, 'cause I sure won't.
